Colonists don't have any skills beyond "educated" or "not educated," so any colonist can do any job equally well. you want and the game assigns those jobs. You can't assign jobs to individual colonists, you just specify how many farmers, blacksmiths, fishermen, etc. The game models individual colonists, each of whom has a job. In Banished, you build houses, grow crops / hunt / gather food, do some *extremely* basic crafting (generic "tools" from iron and wood, clothes from leather or wool), and do some trading. Only in Banished it's much, much simpler with far fewer details. It's not a perfect analogy, since Banished is sort of pseudo-medieval with no tech advancement, but the broad outline is similar. All things considered, I'd rather be playing Rimworld.Īlmost everything Banished does, Rimworld does at least five times better.
